Al-Ma'un (Common Kindnesses)

In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy

[Prophet], have you considered the person who denies the Judgement?
It is he who pushes aside the orphan
and does not urge others to feed the needy.
So woe to those who pray
but are heedless of their prayer;
those who are all show
and forbid common kindnesses.

Ayat al-Kursi

''God: there is no God but Him, the Ever Living, the Ever Watchful.
Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him.
All that is in the heavens and in the earth belong to Him.
Who is there that can intercede with Him except by His leave?
He knows what is before them and what is behind them,
but they do not comprehend any of His knowledge except what He wills.
His throne extends over the heavens and the earth: it does not weary Him
to preseve them both.
He is the Most High, the Tremendous. ''

Al-Kahf (The Cave) verses 45-49

And put forward to them the example of the life of this world,
it is like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green.
But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter.
And Allâh is Able to do everything.
Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds, that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope.
And (remember) the Day We shall cause the mountains to pass away (like clouds of dust), and you will see the earth as a levelled plain, and we shall gather them all together so as to leave not one of them behind.
And they will be set before your Lord in (lines as) rows, (and Allâh will say):
"Now indeed, you have come to Us as We created you the first time. Nay, but you thought that We had appointed no meeting for you (with Us)."
And the Book (one's Record) will be placed (in the right hand for a believer in the Oneness of Allâh, and in the left hand for a disbeliever in the Oneness of Allâh),
and you will see the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners), fearful of that which is (recorded) therein. They will say: "Woe to us! What sort of Book is this that leaves neither a small thing nor a big thing, but has recorded it with numbers!"
And they will find all that they did, placed before them, and your Lord treats no one with injustice.

Al-Kahf (The Cave) verses 57-58

And who doth greater wrong than he who hath been reminded of the revelations of his Lord, yet turneth away from them and forgetteth what his hands send forward (to the Judgment)?
Lo! on their hearts We have placed coverings so that they understand not, and in their ears a deafness.
And though thou call them to the guidance, in that case they can never be led aright.
Thy Lord is the Forgiver, Full of Mercy.
If He took them to task (now) for what they earn, He would hasten on the doom for them;
but theirs is an appointed term from which they will find no escape.

Al-Kahf (The Cave) verse 28

And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face;
and let not thine eyes pass beyond them seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; nor obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.

Al-Ma'ida (The Feast) verses 15-17

O People of the Book! there hath come to you Our Messenger,
revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book, and passing over much (that is now unnecessary): there hath come to you from Allah a (new) Light and a perspicuous Book.―
Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His Will, unto the light,― guideth them to a Path that is Straight.
In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary.
Say: "Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His Will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all― everyone that is on the earth?
For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between.
He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things."

Al-Mursalat ([Winds] Sent Forth) verses 1-19

By the (Winds) Sent Forth one after another (to man's profit);
Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts,
And scatter (things) far and wide; Then separate them, one from another,
Then spread abroad a Message, Whether of Justification or of Warning―
Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass.
Then when the stars become dim;
When the heaven is cleft asunder;
When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust;
And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect)―
For what Day are these (Portents) deferred?
For the Day of Sorting out.
And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out?
Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!
Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)?
So shall We make later (generations) follow them.
Thus do We deal with men of sin.
Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

An-Nur (Light) verses 36-38

(Lit is such a light) in houses, which Allah hath permitted to be raised to honour; for the celebration, in them of His name: in them is He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings, (again and again)―
By men whom neither traffic nor merchandise can divert from the Remembrance of Allah, nor from regular Prayer, nor from the practice of regular Charity:
their (only) fear is for the Day when hearts and eyes will be transformed (in a world wholly new)―
That Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds,
and add even more for them out of His Grace: for Allah doth provide for those whom He will, without measure.

Al-Infitar (Torn Apart)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

When the Sky is cleft asunder;
When the Stars are scattered;
When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth;
And when the Graves are turned upside down―
(Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back.
O man! what has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?
Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias;
In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together.
Nay! but ye do Reject Right and Judgment!
But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you―
Kind and honourable― writing down (your deeds):
They know (and understand) all that ye do.
As for the Righteous, they will be in Bliss;
And the Wicked― they will be in the Fire,
Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment.
And they will not be Able to keep away therefrom.
And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?
Again what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?
(It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another:
for the Command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.

Al Ma'arij (The Ways of Ascent) verses 19-27

Man was truly created anxious:
he is fretful when misfortune touches him,
but tight- fisted when good fortune comes his way.
Not so those who pray and are constant in their prayers;
who give a due share of their wealth to beggars and the deprived;
who believe in the Day of Judgement
and fear the punishment of their Lord.

Al-Isra' (The Night Journey) verses 36-37

And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height.

Al-Imran verse 92

None of you [believers] will attain true piety unless you give out of what you cherish:
whatever you give, God knows about it very well.

Al 'Imran verse 103

And hold fast, all of you together,
to the rope of Allah, and do not separate.
And remember Allah's favour to you:
how you were enemies and He made friendship between your hearts
so that you became as brothers by His grace;
and (how) you were upon the brink of an abyss of fire,
and He did save you from it.
Thus Allah makes clear His revelations to you,
that perhaps you may be guided.

Al-Baqara (The Cow) verse 286

On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear.
It gets every good that it earns and it suffers every ill that it earns.
(Pray): "Our Lord! condemn us not if we forget or fall into error;
Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which Thou didst lay on those before us;
Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear.
Blot out our sins and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us.
Thou art our Protector; help us against those who stand against faith."
